HAPPY NEW YEAR (Yes, even on Jan. 27)

There’s a surprising amount of etiquette around saying “Happy New Year.” In professional settings, the first week of January is generally fair game. After that, the window narrows, with mid-January often considered the unofficial cutoff.

And yet, here we are on January 27 — firmly in belated territory, but no less sincere.

The start of 2026 has felt heavier than usual. Across the country, there’s unrest, uncertainty, and tension that’s been hard to navigate, even as we’ve tried to feel promise in a new year, set goals and ease back into routines.

It has taken awhile for us to get started, as we are firmly into 2026, our focus is simple: clarity. We’re applying that to how we operate, communicate, serve our clients and show up in our communities. When the world feels noisy and unsettled, clarity matters more than ever.

CLARITY IN PRACTICE

  • Being clear with intention. We’re slowing down enough to define thoughtful, deliberate goals, especially in moments that feel complex.

  • Taking clear action. We’re aligning action to intention, so progress feels purposeful rather than reactive.

  • Communicating clearly. We’re committing to transparency and keeping teammates, partners, and clients informed, connected and grounded.

FOR LEADERS READING ALONG

If 2026 already feels fast, noisy or harder to prioritize than you expected, you’re not alone. Many teams are navigating competing priorities, emotional fatigue and communication that doesn’t always land the way it’s intended.

This year, our work is centered on helping bring clarity to moments of change. We want to support alignment with intention, action and communication so teams can move forward with confidence. If that’s something you’re navigating right now, we’d love to compare notes.

So yes, Happy New Year. Not because everything feels easy or resolved, but because this moment calls for steadiness, clarity and intention.

More to come from At The Starting Line.
